A Dream Realized and Playing Catch-Up With You

June 22, 2012

This week marks the realization of a big dream of my husband’s and his partner in crime, Andrew Mackay.  For years, they’ve been dreaming about and planning for a place on the web where parents (and people with precious children in their lives) can go to be encouraged on their journey. This week it finally happened. Story Warren launched and we are celebrating (only after a few hiccups like the site breaking and the logo scaring people–details!). So, if you have a desire to foster imagination in the children you love and enjoy, hop on over and look around. Enjoy your visit. You are welcome any time.

Story Warren is also on Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook. So you can definitely keep up with all the happenings.

As for me, I feel like time is flying and I am hanging on for dear life. My baby turned FOUR months old this past week and I am slowly coming out of the fog that has been surrounding me. It’s been a lovely fog, full of sweet smells and tastes, daily chores, meal making, parenting, crafting with my kids and watching lots of soccer in our town. But it hasn’t left time for blogging and for that, I apologize. Hopefully that will change in the near future.

I’ve  done lots of work on the house and look forward to sharing the changes with you. It is looking more and more like we actually live here and that does my heart and my soul much good. I breathe a sigh of contentment when I walk into my kitchen these days. (Even when it’s messy!)

Here are a few things I’ve been cooking up for my brood…

These pancakes. They are amazing. I’ve made them several times in the last 2 months. I got the recipe from my sister in law and WOW, they really deliver. (And they make quite a bit, so you can store the mix in your fridge and feed your own brood an extra time or two while you’re at it)

These granola bars. Yummy and easy. Win-win. Go ahead and double the recipe. Wink.

This pasta is very delicious.

And these Teddy Bear Toasts are a hit every time. (We use Sunbutter because of allergies)

If you follow me on Twitter or are a friend on Facebook, you will see more of the crafts and activities I’m enjoying with the kids. It’s just easier to take a quick picture and post it there than it is to compose entire blog posts about them. But I am definitely making a dent in my Pinterest “to-dos” and that makes everyone around here happy!

Hope to see you around these parts a little more often! (Not making any promises, though. I hate being a disappointment!)
