Celebratory Skirt

My mom made me a dress about 15 yrs ago that I loved, but it’s been hanging untouched in my closet for a while now. I haven’t been into dresses all that much since having kids. And who keeps a dress for 15 yrs, you ask? Well, I do. I loved it and couldn’t bear to let it go.  I’ve always had a soft spot for patchwork. But I felt like I was wasting space by letting it just hang, so I took a deep breath this week and cut into it. A few seams and a drawstring later, voila!

Sorry, friends. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one all summer long. I can’t help myself. Me and my skirt have lots to catch up on.

I love it too! I actually thought you made it for A until I saw the second picture :) It’s very cute.

Nice! I love skirts. Every Sunday morning I put one on before church…then 5 minutes before I head out the door I quick-change into my jeans or khakis. I miss skirts, but can’t imagine having to think of modesty while I’m serving in the nursery or climbing on to the platform stage for worship team. Maybe one of these days I’ll wear a skirt again. You should make a little newsie hat with the leftover material for Micah.

Love it! I’ve been hanging on to several dresses from high school that just really aren’t my style anymore but love the fabric. Maybe I’ll finally cut into them. I’ve been living in skirts this summer as well; so much better than shorts for me!
