Toilet Talk
There’s been lots of toilet talk around here lately: traps, pipes, flush ratings, as well as other more appealing decisions to be made, like tile and grout and fixtures and the like…it’s all happening.
We were blessed, seven years ago, to find an old house in a great neighborhood for an even better price. It’s quaint and cozy, but it hasn’t been without its problems. We’ve been biding our time and getting things done as we can. It’s a lesson in patience (and humility at times!) and it’s not quite “HGTV” ready, but it’s home and we love it.
This weekend, we’re finally taking the plunge (no pun intended–eewww!) and remodeling the bathroom. My hubby is a book man, not necessarily a fix-it man, so I am doubly proud of him for taking on this project, and thankful for friends (especially the “puppet master,” JOHN) who are so willing to help supervise. It will be so much more relaxing to shower without fear of being hit by falling tiles.
Before and after pics will definitely be shared at some point in this process. See? Now my house is teaching YOU patience.
But until then, here’s a pic of me saying good-bye to the saggy ceiling and the broken tiles and the leaky faucets and trickly shower. Oh, and the Robin’s egg blue. I am not at all sad to see them go.
How fun!!! So excited to see how it turns out.
Have fun!! My hubby is a plumber so if you have any questions, let me know.
I am SO excited for you guys!! Can’t wait to see and hear about the progress you make… Renovating a room can bring all sorts of emotions out – hope yours range on the happier side of things! When we finish a project, I always feel like I have been though an involuntary marriage “counseling” session…
Woo hoo! So glad for you guys. I know you’ve been waiting for a long time and I’m excited for you!
We’re so happy to be called good friends, Gina, that we get to share with you on this adventure! I’m thankful that John is so willing to share his gifts with others. It’s tempting to be selfish with him, but then I think about all the help we got when we built our house!
I’m happy for you!
What would we do without you guys, Shelly? It certainly IS an adventure!
