An Excuse to Sew

There’s nothing like a birthday to give me an excuse to take the afternoon off and do some sewing! I have a sweet friend who just entered her thirties.

Shelly has always been inspirational to me, especially in the kitchen. Because of her, I bought a stand mixer 9 years ago and haven’t stopped using or enjoying it since. I also get so many great recipes from her. (It’s always nice to find something new to cook without having to look for it yourself–I trust her taste wholeheartedly!)

One of the first things I started making with my mixer was bread. I saw how easy she made it look and took the plunge. So when I saw this, I knew I had to make her one! I was happy with the way it turned out, so I made another.

Shelly, I hope you had a happy birthday and may your bread always be fresh…or at least for a little while longer than it was before.
